So we are halfway through Nano and I’m so far behind the chances of completing the challenge are pretty much slim to none. I have completed one horror short which I am happy with, yes it needs work but that shouldn’t be too difficult.

My second horror tale is started and was going well, but of course family life took over and it all went to hell. I have only written around 200 words since last Monday or there abouts. I have 5 horror short stories which I know I want to write but the motivation to write has pretty much gone. The real world has encroached onto my imagination and my time which has meant that writing has had to take a back seat.

But I am confident that this is not like last year, where I went into a kind of writers black hole. I have the stories to write, I want to write them, I want them ready for some people who I know will want to read them. I will find my calm, I will find my writing peace, I will complete these stories. Am I am giving myself a deadline ? No, but I want to try to finish before the end of 2016 and start 2017 editing the hell out of my stories.

So to answer my title Is it worth it?

Hell Yes it is.
