So we are on Day 7 of the joy that is Nanowrimo and I am a tad behind. My total word count is 7543 which is below where I should be at this point. But you know what I don’t care. You want to know why? I’ve just completed my first short story. Black Gold.
When I started I had no idea how long this tale would be but in the end it came to a satisfying conclusion, but I reckon some folk might not be too happy about the ending. Could I go further with it and extend it more? I suppose so but it just feels right to finish where I did.
If you’ve read my previous posts about my writing you will know I get bored before the end, a long time before the end. I didn’t get bored and I finished. That is a personal goal folks. Tomorrow I move on to the next tale I am desperate to tell but as yet I don’t know what it will be.
Will I go for a witch tale, I think I might as have been inspired by seeing some really excellent drawn pictures of just what a witch should look like (it also fit the fairy story too). Or do I revisit my long lamented crappy novel Aftermath. This will need a new title as, if you’ve downloaded my free book, (what you haven’t well get on it pronto hehe) I’ve already got a story called this that I am very happy with.
I do have a couple of other choices but just not sure where my brain is at, I just think I’m floating in the glow of finally finishing something lol. Don’t get me wrong I’ll have major editing to do but you know what, this months not about editing or getting something perfect. Its about getting the words on the page. So if any of you are taking time out to read this and are doing Nano, my thoughts are with you and come on, I’ve finished waffling – get back to your words.

He he, keep it up, Laura!
