I didn’t know what to expect when I started The Rest Will Come, but the first paragraph had me hooked from the get go. From the beginning Christina handled the more gruesome aspects of her tale with style and dare I say grace. She leaves nothing to the imagination yet doesn’t quite head off into the territory of gore for gores sake.
The Rest Will Come follows Emma as we find out about her failed marriage, her continual search for happiness which involves finding true love having her go on some awful dates, and finally how Emma only finds happiness when she starts to kill.
I love the opening and then when we delve back into Emma’s past to see where it all went wrong, I found myself alternately laughing and commiserating with her. This was a very quick read for me, think it took me a couple of days to finish and I enjoyed every word. The pacing during Emma’s horrific dates did tail off as we were repeating the same idea – meet guy online, seems nice, agree to date, guy sucks, Emma heads deeper into despair. But in thinking about it, this was needed to show the reader (me) just how awful things were, so that when Emma finally snapped it was no surprise and I was cheering her on.
To be honest I knew where the story was heading from early on but that didn’t stop my enjoyment of the book, in fact I think it helped keep me hooked. If I had been Christina I wouldn’t have included the epilogue, it felt too neat, best to leave it with her excellent last sentence of chapter 22.
A quick enjoyable read, not too gory but certainly not for the fainthearted, this book has made me want to search out more of Christina’s work.

Biography
Colorado‐bred writer, Christina Bergling knew she wanted to be an author in fourth grade.
In college, she pursued a professional writing degree and started publishing small scale. It all began with “How to Kill Yourself Slowly.”
With the realities of paying bills, she started working as a technical writer and document manager, traveling to Iraq as a contractor and eventually becoming a trainer and software developer.
She avidly hosted multiple blogs on Iraq, bipolar, pregnancy, running. She continues to write on Fiery Pen: The Horror Writing of Christina Bergling and Z0mbie Turtle.
In 2015, she published two novellas. She is also featured in the horror collections Collected Christmas Horror Shorts, Collected Easter Horror Shorts, Collected Halloween Horror Shorts, and Demonic Wildlife. Her latest novel, The Rest Will Come, was released by Limitless Publishing in August 2017.
Bergling is a mother of two young children and lives with her family in Colorado Springs. She spends her non‐writing time running, doing yoga and barre, belly dancing, taking pictures, traveling, and sucking all the marrow out of life.
