As you all know (well if you’ve been keeping up with my posts that is) I threw in the towel during Nano and 50K words didn’t happen. But what did happen was a small selection of short stories and my return to the love of writing, so not a total loss.

Horror Bites Challenge #4
So did you like the stories from the last challenge? Thanks so much to all that took part, I’m happy that my little pictures are providing inspiration. This time round I’m using a photo that my son wanted me to take. It’s supposed to be of a moth that was on the outside of the window but my camera is fairly rubbish and you can only just make it out. (Top corner of the middle pain on the right, if you need help.) Continue reading →
Horror Bites Challenge #3
So we had a couple of interesting tales from the library picture for HorrorBites #2 and I hope that this week more of you will be inspired to write a short horror tales.
This week we are once again heading to the airport. The following picture was taken when I spotted a family leaving their trash behind. Before I tidied up after them I got to thinking what if this was an offering to the Trash Gods, or something more sinister.
Rules this week:
1. Post your link or full tale into the comments below.
2. Giving you a count of 400-500 words this time.
3. To make this a wee bit more interesting I’d like this story to be set during the day, its easy to scare at night not so much when the sun is shining.
4. Closes around the 13th December
Nano 2016 – Day 19
Well what can I say I’m currently near 18K words behind, so unless I’m allowed to skip work for the next 12 days it’s a safe bet that yet again I’m not going to complete Nanowrimo this year. Continue reading →
Is it worth it?
So we are halfway through Nano and I’m so far behind the chances of completing the challenge are pretty much slim to none. I have completed one horror short which I am happy with, yes it needs work but that shouldn’t be too difficult. Continue reading →
Nano 2016 – Day 7
So we are on Day 7 of the joy that is Nanowrimo and I am a tad behind. My total word count is 7543 which is below where I should be at this point. But you know what I don’t care. You want to know why? I’ve just completed my first short story. Black Gold.
Nano 2016 – Day 4
So what can I say. Its day 4 & if I continue as I’m going the estimate is I’ll finish mid January LOL got a fair bit of catching up to do. Now you may be wondering how come I’m so far behind, so close to the start – if thats the case the keep on reading.
Nano 2016 – Day 1
So its the big day where all across the world writers and frantically typing away at the beginnings of their novel. 50K in 30 days, easy peasy. Ok I jest, so not easy let alone peasy.
Horror Bites Challenge #2
So I hope you had fun with the last challenge and are raring to go with this next one. I realise that some of you will be taking part in NaNoWriMo this month but maybe you need a break. Or maybe this image will help inspire your opening sequence.
Creating my free eBook
With the launch of this new site I wanted to give new subscribers the opportunity to read some of my work but the new site is very bare of stories. I could have copied over my old stories but to be honest that seemed a bit too much work. So I had the thought that I’d create a wee book of stories from old work. The bulk of this work was published in 2014 for Sirens Call eZine, an online horror magazine.
